A Wis. Father has Been Found Guilty in the Prayer Death of His Daugther

http://www.mail.com/Article.aspx/us/0/APNews/US/20090802/U_US-Prayer-Death?pageid=1

I found this story online, written by Robert Imrie, of the AP, it posted Saturday, August 01, 2009. I hope you find it as interesting as I did.

As a committed Christian, a Bible believing Charismatic Christian, one who stands on the Word of God, it troubles me to no end when a life is lost because wisdom is not used. When there is illness and rather than using the tools the Father God has made available (doctors, medicine, hospitals, etc.), a life is lost.

Prayer is a powerful tool. As is wisdom.

This story is about a father - an otherwise loving dad - whose daughter was ill and his choice of action was prayer, based on his faith, rather than wisdom. His daughter died, and he has now been found guilty of second-degree reckless homocide because he refused to take his daughter to get medical care.

She died of complications from diabetes that had not been diagnosed.

I understand prayer during difficult health issues. Four years ago I was diagnosed with inoperable brain cancer. I believed with all my heart my Father God had all ready healed me.

But, wisdom prevailed. I had a young son at home that still needed to be raised, he still needed his mom.

People across the country were praying for me, for complete healing from the brain cancer. Yet, I underwent the recommended radiation and chemotherapy treatments. The first MRI after the last chemo treatment, showed no evidence of a tumor or cancer.

I give God all the glory for that complete healing. Today, four years later, all subsequent MRIs are just as clean and clear. No cancer, no tumors. God is faithful.

He expects us to use wisdom - He tells us to use wisdom. James 1.5,6: "If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind." NIV Translation.

My prayers are with the parents as they are charged and convicted with the crime. Their precious daughter is now dead ... walking with Jesus ... they however will have to walk out their crime of neglect and ignorance for the rest of their lives. I pray they find peace and forgiveness.

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT

I received this in an email earlier this evening. As Christians we need to be more aware than ever before what the consequences of this election will mean if the wrong candidate is put in the White House.

Please, take a moment and read this, and feel free to copy and paste and this post and email it on. Thank you.

“Received this from some friends...not only is it biblical, it is something we all can do.
No curse if you don't pass it on; no promised blessings if you do; just a suggestion.”

ONE MINUTE EACH NIGHT.... 9:00 PM Eastern Time.

“Received from a friend and it is true, this is the scariest election we as Christians have ever faced and from the looks of the polls, the Christians aren't voting Christian values. We all need to be on our knees.

Do you believe we can take God at His word? Call upon His name, then stand back and watch His wonders to behold. This scripture gives us, as Christians, ownership of this land and the ability to call upon God to heal it. I challenge you to do so. We have never been more desperate than now for God to heal our land. This election is the scariest I remember in my lifetime!

2 Chronicles 7:14 -- “If my people, which are called by My name shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

“During WWII, there was an advisor to Churchill who organized a group of people who dropped what they were doing every night at a prescribed hour for one minute to collectively pray for the safety of England, its people and peace. This had an amazing effect as bombing stopped. There is now a group of people organizing the same thing here in America. The United States of America and our citizens need prayer more than ever!!!”

“If you would like to participate, each evening at 9:00 PM Eastern Time (8:00 PM Central, 7:00 PM Mountain, 6:00 PM Pacific), stop whatever you are doing and spend one minute praying for the safety of the United States: our troops, our citizens, for peace in the world, the up-coming election, that the Bible will remain the basis for the laws governing our land, and that Christianity will grow in the U.S.”

“If you know anyone who would like to participate, please pass this along.”

“Someone said if people really understood the full extent of the power we have available through prayer, we might be speechless. Our prayers are the most powerful asset we have.”

“Thank you. Please pass this on to anyone whom you think will want to join us.”

So Who Knew the Mind Was the First Thing to Go?

There comes a time in every one's life when they begin to realize that the gray in their hair, and the wrinkles on their faces are not just the result of sleeping on a bad mattress. Indeed, the aging process has begun to catch up.

For me, the realization was not so subtle. Mind you, I am 48 and while most people think I am in my 30's, I have always been aware of the changes in my body. A muscle that used to be flexible, no longer is; a joint that bent freely, now slows with arthritis. Aging happens, sometimes gracefully, sometimes not so kindly.

Remember the week when all my technological conveniences began to crash, one by one? Well, I didn't tell you everything. I had a muscle crash. No, not literally, but it was a crash all the same.

I'm going to tell you my secret, but you must not tell my neighbors. They already think I'm a little ... different.

It was a Saturday evening when my son and I, and one of his friends, had returned from being out. Our arms were full of McDonald's 42 cent drinks, a bag or two of groceries, and of course my portable kitchen sink. Ladies, you and I both know that the older we get the more room we want in our purses. Though not to carry everything we can get our hands on from home, but more to have the room to bring home some special finds that we don't want to have to carry separately.

I digress. We alit from my van, I took the keys out to unlock the front door, realized I wanted to relieve my water challenged plants, and set my purse down on the front porch to keep it from getting wet and dirty. Heaven forbid something should happen to it.

My plants were thirstier than I realized, and the watering took longer than I intended. By the time all the pots were overflowing, my mind (remember the muscle crash) had taken a leave of absence.

I went inside, prepared dinner, worked on laundry, read the paper, and sat down to relax. Michael and his friend immersed themselves in the Nintendo, and didn't come out except to see if the friend could spend the night. Not a problem. We'd just drop him off on our way to church.

The sandman visited and soon we were all in la-la land. The morning came, and as we prepared to leave, I looked everywhere in the house for my purse. It wasn't where I normally left it, so I commissioned my son to begin a search. He's really good at finding things I lose. I stay in one spot and he finds and retrieves. Anyway, my purse was no where to be found.

I opened the front door to check the van and sitting right where I had left it -- in full view of the street, was my purse. It had been light outside for several hours. It was a wonder that no one had taken it, because I would never have known.

This is where God takes care of those of us who are farther along in the aging process than we realized. My wallet, my money, credit cards, everything was just as I had left it. There must have been angels slapping their knees with amusement when they saw my folly.

Have you ever gone to bed and left the keys in the front door lock? Me too!, and more times than I care to share. But this time, leaving my purse on the porch over night was more than I could gracefully accept. The brain had drained, and needed to be renewed. If anyone out there knows of technological advances that take care of drained brains, please let me know. I don't think the angels would be so amused a second time.

Happy New Year To All!!

It's hard to believe that tomorrow starts another year, but 2008 is on the cusp. Time is just flying by. The adage, "the older you get, the faster time flies" seems very appropriate for me.

Truly, while tomorrow begins 2008 -- it seems just yesterday 2007 began.

Are you thinking about resolutions? Ways to make your life better? Do you think about losing weight? What about your relationship with God -- do you think about where you'll spend your eternity?

Every morning is the beginning of a new start -- every morning is covered by the refreshment of God's grace. It's a promise from Him that it will be new every morning. When I get up every morning I know that I have a fresh day to start with -- His grace and His love are there fresh every morning. I count on that.

I hope you count on that too. When you consider what your New Year holds, I hope you consider the love your Father has for you and how He wants to bless you.

Tasks Completed & The Joy Of Christmas

Finishing Things Up ... I've been working on my web site for what seems like years. In truth, it's only been a few months. But it's been taking up all , and I do mean all, of what seems to be all of my extra time. My web page is finished and I do hope you amble over and take a gander.

There are still a couple of things I need to add -- like a shopping cart -- if you can call the shopping cart a last minute item -- and the Photo Gallery. This web site has been a labor of blood, sweat, and tears - truly. Not to mention the countless hours I have devoted to it. Worth it? You better believe it.

Everything is in one place -- that is everything except the blog -- and this is such a great place to blog, wouldn't you agree?

ON A DIFFERENT NOTE >>>

Thanksgiving was a time to rest and be thankful. Christmas is now just around the corner and will be another time to rest and be thankful. As a Christian, I am always thankful for the gift of Jesus and His decision to leave heaven for me - to spill His blood for me - to die for me. To die for all of us.

Christmas is a time when families like to give gifts to each other. Gifts that are wrapped in beautiful shiny paper with ribbons and bows. Jesus is the ultimate gift. God reached out His hand and said, "... He loved the world so much He gave His only Son, that whoever believed in Him would not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3.16) -- all we have to say to Jesus is "yes". There is no wrapping paper to deal with, no difficult boxes to open. Just say, "yes".

Won't you consider your eternity - where will you spend it?

Won't you consider the gift of Jesus -- the true reason for Christmas -- and start the new year with a new heart and say "yes" to Jesus!

Biopsy, Dallas, & Glory To God!

After three days in Dallas I was more than happy to get home: my son, my dog and cat and home all needed my attention. I also needed to catch up on my soaps. They were just starting new story lines that were down-right interesting!!

OK. The biopsy went very well -- all was successful. The doctors knew what they were facing and what kind of treatment I was facing. In Amarillo, the Harrington Cancer Center was the epitome of progressive cancer treatment and exactly what I needed.

My doctors were remarkable. From a stereo-tactic biopsy in Dallas, I went to stereo-tactic radiation treatments at the HCC. Every day the staff assembled my head into this device so the radiation would hit the exactly right spot. That white thing is a mask that was made of my face before they could ever begin. There was a back to it that was clamped down so my head could not move. For anyone who had issues with claustrophobia, the mask would have been a problem. After the radiation treatments, I completed two six-week treatments of chemotherapy via pills.

I was so blessed. God never took His hand off me.

Once in awhile I had a little queasiness from the chemo, and certainly I lost hair from the radiation and chemo. But in the end, God prevailed. At my second MRI after the last chemo series, the tumor was declared mush and the cancer had no cells left.

Glory to God!! The divine healing was clear to the doctors and every MRI since is just as clear as the second. My healing is real. The Father was faithful and would not allow me to abandon my young son.

Today, every time I have the opportunity to share this wonderful testimony of the Father's grace and mercy, people are encouraged because they too can be touched as I was by the remarkable and divine love and miracle that the Father showered on me.
